1. General
These Terms govern the booking platform operated on danuberide.com by DANUBE RIDE s.r.o., trading as Danube Ride (the "Platform Operator"). Transport is performed by an independent licensed transport partner assigned to the ride (the "Carrier").
The Platform Operator and the Carrier have different obligations. A driver may be the Carrier, its employee, or another authorised driver; the driver's name does not by itself identify the Carrier. If you book for another passenger, you must give that passenger the relevant booking information and these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of booking applies to that booking, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
2. Services
The Platform Operator supplies the booking interface, dispatch, payment administration, notifications and customer support and earns commission from independent Transport Partners.
The assigned Transport Partner is the Carrier and the supplier of the transport. The Carrier, not DANUBE RIDE s.r.o., is responsible for the vehicle, authorised driver, licences, insurance, safety and performance of the ride.
Transport Partners are independent businesses. They are not employees of the Platform Operator and are not described in these Terms as its transport subcontractors.
Transport services are provided only for lawful purposes and only for passengers and luggage declared or reasonably expected at the time of booking.
The transport provisions of these Terms are the standard Carrier Transport Rules for rides booked through the Platform. Under its agreement with the Platform Operator, each Carrier adopts those provisions as its conditions of carriage when it accepts a Booking. No separate or conflicting Carrier terms apply unless mandatory law requires them and they are made available through the Platform before they bind you.
3. Booking & Confirmation
A booking may be made through our website, by email, by phone, or by another approved communication channel.
An order receipt or initial platform acknowledgement confirms receipt of the request and the Platform Operator's agreement to seek a Carrier; it does not form the transport contract. The transport contract forms only when an assigned Carrier accepts and a carrier confirmation identifying its legal or business name, company registration number, registered or business address, email address and telephone number is delivered to you. The carrier confirmation includes or provides access to the Carrier's applicable transport rules. If no Carrier accepts, no cash fare is due and any online amount received for the unavailable ride is released or refunded in full.
The customer is responsible for providing complete and accurate booking information, including:
- pickup location and destination;
- date and pickup time;
- flight number, train number, or other arrival details where relevant;
- passenger name and contact details;
- number of passengers;
- luggage quantity and any oversized items;
- child seat requirements;
- any special requests or mobility requirements.
The assigned driver's name and vehicle details are normally sent 18 hours before pickup. For a booking made within 18 hours, they are sent as soon as assignment is complete. The Carrier Confirmation may be combined with that notice or sent separately. Driver details are not a substitute for Carrier identity. You are responsible for reasonable loss caused by materially incorrect, incomplete or late information you provide.
4. Prices & Payment
All prices are quoted in euros (EUR) and include VAT where applicable.
The price confirmed at the time of booking is fixed for the agreed route, vehicle type, pickup time, and declared passengers and luggage. The price may change if the customer requests or causes a material change to the service.
Accepted payment methods include:
- online payment received and administered by the Platform Operator pending Carrier allocation and, once the transport contract forms, applied toward the fare on the assigned Carrier's behalf; and
- cash payment collected by the driver or Carrier for the Carrier, where offered.
An online payment receipt confirms receipt of the amount, not Carrier acceptance and not a transport invoice. Before allocation, the amount is administered pending formation of a transport contract. Once that contract forms, it is applied toward the fare on the assigned Carrier's behalf, and payment through the approved platform checkout discharges your fare obligation for the amount successfully received. If no transport contract forms, the amount is released or refunded in full. If payment fails or is reversed, another valid method may be required.
The Carrier is the transport supplier and issues the passenger's transport invoice or fiscal receipt in its own name. Only where the Carrier has expressly authorised it and applicable law permits, the Platform Operator may technically generate or deliver the document on the Carrier's behalf; the document must identify the Carrier, not the Platform Operator, as the transport supplier. Transport Partners are settled twice monthly for the 1st–15th and 16th–last-day periods under their partner agreement.
5. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, the following cancellation policy applies:
- 24 hours or more before pickup: full refund
- At least 18 but less than 24 hours before pickup: 50% refund
- Less than 18 hours before pickup: no refund
- No-show: no refund
Cancellation procedure: A cancellation is valid only when completed through one of the following methods:
- by phone call to +421 908 122 798;
- email to info@bratislavaairporttaxi.eu; or
- WhatsApp message to +421 908 122 798.
The refund percentage is determined by when the cancellation notice reaches us: the time of the call, delivery of the email or WhatsApp message, or receipt of the initial website cancellation request. An online cancellation must still be completed with the verification code sent to the booking email. Refunds, where due, will be processed to the original payment method where possible. Processing times may depend on banks and payment providers.
6. Pickup, Waiting Time & Arrival Delays
Passengers must be ready at the agreed pickup location at the agreed pickup time.
For airport pickups, the Platform Operator or Carrier monitors the flight arrival time where the customer has provided a valid and accurate flight number. If the flight is delayed, the pickup time will be adjusted according to the actual arrival time where reasonably possible.
A flight delay of up to and including 3 hours from the scheduled landing time is accommodated without an additional charge. If the delay exceeds 3 hours, the original airport pickup may be closed after the flight status and your communications have been checked. Unless an extension or replacement pickup and any fare change are agreed in advance, the full fare for the closed pickup is retained and no refund is due under this policy, subject to mandatory law. After the flight's actual landing time, 60 minutes of waiting is included for baggage reclaim, border formalities and reaching the meeting point.
For a non-airport pickup, 15 minutes of waiting after the agreed pickup time is included. Extra waiting and any additional fare must be agreed expressly; otherwise the no-show rules may apply only after an actual pickup opportunity.
If the passenger cannot locate the driver, the passenger must contact us immediately by phone before leaving the pickup location. Leaving the pickup location without contacting us may be treated as a no-show.
7. Customer No-Show & Driver Non-Arrival
A passenger no-show may be recorded only if the approved driver and vehicle attended the agreed pickup point throughout the applicable waiting period, the driver first wrote to you and, if there was no reply, called you; for an airport pickup, the driver must also have looked in the arrivals hall. Before leaving, the driver must notify the Platform Operator and provide the time, location, contact record and an arrivals-hall photograph that avoids unnecessarily photographing other people. A flight that is still delayed or has not landed is not by itself a passenger no-show.
In the event of a customer no-show, no refund is due.
If the driver does not arrive at the agreed pickup location within 30 minutes after the agreed or adjusted pickup time, the customer must contact the Platform Operator immediately by phone. If neither the Carrier nor the Platform Operator can arrange the booked vehicle or reasonable alternative transport within a further reasonable period, the customer may cancel the transfer and receive a full refund of the amount paid for that transfer. This does not affect any mandatory rights under applicable law.
8. Passenger Conduct & Safety
Passengers must comply with applicable law, wear seatbelts where required, follow reasonable driver instructions, and behave in a safe and respectful manner.
Smoking, consumption of alcohol in the vehicle, use of illegal substances, abusive behaviour, harassment, aggression, or any behaviour that may endanger the driver, passengers, vehicle, or other road users is strictly prohibited.
The Carrier or its authorised driver may refuse to start, suspend, or terminate a journey without refund if a passenger:
- behaves dangerously, abusively, or unlawfully;
- is visibly intoxicated or under the influence of drugs;
- attempts to exceed the vehicle's passenger or luggage capacity;
- refuses to wear a seatbelt where required;
- causes or is likely to cause damage or excessive soiling to the vehicle;
- requests transport of unlawful, dangerous, or undeclared items.
9. Luggage, Animals & Special Items
The customer is responsible for declaring luggage accurately during booking. Luggage must fit safely within the booked vehicle and must not obstruct the driver's view or compromise safety.
Oversized items, sports equipment, bicycles, skis, musical instruments, wheelchairs, or unusually large quantities of luggage must be declared before booking confirmation.
The Carrier or its authorised driver may refuse to transport undeclared excess or oversized luggage if it cannot be safely accommodated. In such cases, no refund is due where the refusal is caused by incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer.
Animals may be transported only if agreed in advance. Animals must be safely secured in a carrier, harness, or other suitable restraint, and the customer is responsible for any cleaning or damage caused by the animal.
10. Child Seats
The Carrier provides child seats free of charge upon request, subject to availability. The customer must request child seats during booking and must provide accurate information about the child's age, height, or weight where requested. The accompanying adult remains responsible for ensuring that the child is properly seated and secured in accordance with applicable law.
11. Damage, Cleaning & Additional Costs
The customer is responsible for any damage, excessive dirt, or cleaning costs caused by passengers, animals, or luggage during the transfer.
Where a vehicle requires cleaning, repair, or is taken out of service due to passenger actions, including vomiting, staining, breakage, or contamination, the Carrier may charge reasonable and evidenced cleaning, repair, and loss-of-use costs. The Platform Operator may collect them only on the Carrier's behalf and on the basis of the Carrier's claim.
Additional costs may also apply for tolls, parking, ferry charges, route changes, or other expenses not included in the confirmed price, where such costs arise from customer-requested changes or circumstances caused by the customer.
12. Delays, Route Changes, Force Majeure & Service Continuity
The Carrier and Platform Operator, within their respective responsibilities, make reasonable efforts to provide punctual transfers but do not guarantee arrival at the destination at a specific time. Journey times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, border controls, police checks, road closures, accidents, vehicle breakdowns, strikes, public events, or other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the relevant party.
Neither the Carrier nor the Platform Operator is liable for missed flights, trains, appointments, events, or other onward arrangements where the delay is caused by circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the relevant party or by insufficient time allowed by the customer, to the extent such a limitation is permitted by law.
Where necessary for safety, legal compliance, or efficiency, the driver may select a reasonable alternative route.
In the event of vehicle breakdown, driver illness, or another operational issue preventing the originally assigned vehicle from completing the service, the Carrier and the Platform Operator will make reasonable efforts, within their respective responsibilities, to arrange a replacement driver or vehicle within a reasonable time. Any change of Carrier company is handled under section 14.
If the Carrier is unable to provide the booked service or a reasonable alternative, the customer is entitled to a full refund for the affected transfer. No further compensation is due unless required by mandatory law.
The booked vehicle class will not be substituted with a different class without the customer's prior consent. If the booked vehicle class is unavailable and the customer does not consent to an alternative, the customer is entitled to a full refund of any amount already paid.
13. Service Scope & Exclusions
Unless expressly agreed in writing, the following are not included in the standard transfer price:
- additional stops not specified at booking;
- significant route deviations requested by the customer;
- waiting time exceeding the included or agreed limits;
- parking fees, tolls, ferry charges, or border-related fees where not explicitly included;
- accommodation, meals, or other passenger expenses;
- transport of undeclared special items or excessive luggage.
Any such additional services may be charged separately.
14. Carrier, Driver, Vehicle & Replacement
The Carrier may use an employee or other authorised driver and may replace the driver or vehicle with a lawful equivalent that meets the confirmed class. Updated operational details are sent as soon as reasonably possible.
The Platform Provider may assign a replacement Carrier where operationally necessary. If the Carrier company changes after a Carrier Confirmation, the Platform Provider will send an updated Carrier Confirmation identifying the replacement as soon as reasonably possible. The replacement does not require your approval where the Fare and material features of the confirmed service remain unchanged. A higher Fare or materially different service applies only with your express agreement.
If no suitable Carrier can perform the affected ride, any amount paid for that ride will be refunded in full. This does not affect rights that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.
15. Pricing Adjustments & Special Conditions
A price change may be proposed if:
- incorrect or incomplete booking information is provided;
- the number of passengers or amount of luggage exceeds what was declared;
- there are material route changes requested by the customer;
- waiting time significantly exceeds the agreed limits, except where covered under flight delay conditions;
- extraordinary circumstances require deviation from the planned route.
The amount and reason for any additional charge must be communicated before it is incurred and the charge applies only if you expressly accept it. If you do not accept it, the parties may keep the existing booking where practicable or apply the relevant cancellation or refund rules. The Platform Provider may collect an accepted additional charge only on the Carrier's behalf. This does not prevent a Carrier from pursuing a separately evidenced claim for damage or another amount arising directly under mandatory law.
16. Liability
The Carrier must hold the licences and insurance required for its passenger transport. The Platform Operator is responsible for its platform arrangement, payment-administration and support obligations.
The Carrier is responsible under the transport contract for transport performance, its driver, vehicle safety, luggage in its custody, injury and duties imposed on a carrier by law. Each party remains responsible for its own acts and for persons for whom the law makes it responsible.
Any exclusion of indirect loss or limitation of liability applies only to the extent lawful and reasonable.
Passengers are responsible for allowing sufficient time for their journey, including recommended check-in times, security procedures, border controls, and traffic conditions. Neither the Carrier nor the Platform Operator guarantees arrival at a specific time or is liable for missed onward travel where the passenger did not allow reasonable journey time.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
17. Personal Belongings & Lost Property
Passengers are responsible for their personal belongings at all times.
If an item is left in a vehicle, the customer should contact the Platform Operator as soon as possible, and the Platform Operator will provide reasonable assistance in contacting the relevant Carrier. The Carrier is responsible, to the extent provided by applicable law, for items left in its vehicle and their return.
Return of lost property may be subject to reasonable delivery, postage, or transfer costs.
18. Website Use & Intellectual Property
All content on danuberide.com, including text, images, logos, layout, route descriptions, and other materials, is owned by or licensed to DANUBE RIDE s.r.o. unless otherwise stated.
Users may view and print website content for personal booking and information purposes only. No website content may be copied, reproduced, scraped, republished, modified, distributed, or used commercially without our prior written consent.
Users must not misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation, upload malicious code, scrape data, impersonate another person, submit false information, or use the website for unlawful purposes.
19. Privacy & Data Protection
The Platform Operator processes booking data and shares information needed to evaluate and perform a ride with prospective and assigned Transport Partners. The assigned Carrier acts as an independent controller for transport, legal compliance, invoicing and claims. The Privacy Policy explains the data, recipients, purposes and rights in detail.
20. Complaints
Any complaint should be submitted as soon as possible and preferably within 7 days after the transfer. Complaints should be sent to info@bratislavaairporttaxi.eu and should include the booking reference, date of transfer, passenger name, and a clear description of the issue. The Platform Operator handles complaints about the platform service and promptly forwards transport complaints to the Carrier or assists with their handling. The Carrier is responsible for the response and remedy concerning the transport.
21. Governing Law, Consumer Rights & Dispute Resolution
The platform arrangement contract between you and the Platform Operator is governed by Slovak law. The law governing each Transport Contract is determined under the applicable conflict-of-laws rules.
That choice of law and these Terms and Conditions do not displace overriding mandatory provisions or deprive a consumer of mandatory protections that apply to the relevant contract or journey.
In the event of a dispute, we encourage customers to contact us first to seek an amicable resolution.
After first requesting a remedy from the relevant trader, consumers may use a competent Slovak alternative dispute resolution entity where the statutory conditions are met.
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
22. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
Please contact the Platform Operator promptly about an online-payment dispute so it and the Carrier can investigate. This does not remove any statutory or card-scheme right to dispute a transaction. The Platform Operator may provide proportionate evidence in its own capacity and, where authorised, for the Carrier.
A rejected or reversed charge does not by itself prove a transport debt. No chargeback, administration or recovery fee is payable without a lawful contractual basis and a reasonable evidenced amount.
23. Distance Selling & Right of Withdrawal
Under Slovak consumer law, the special distance-contract withdrawal regime generally does not apply to a contract for passenger transport, apart from specified electronic-order rules.
The platform arrangement contract is separate from the Transport Contract. If mandatory law gives you a right to withdraw from the platform arrangement contract, that right remains unaffected. A request for the Platform Operator to begin performance during a withdrawal period, or an acknowledgement that the right will be lost after full performance, is effective only if made expressly in the manner required by law; merely accepting these Terms and Conditions is not such a request or acknowledgement.
The passenger-transport exclusion and any rules applying to the platform arrangement contract are separate from the commercial cancellation and refund rights in section 5 and do not remove rights that mandatory law does not allow the parties to exclude.
24. Order of Precedence & Contract Formation
The initial platform acknowledgement forms only the platform arrangement contract. The transport contract forms when the identified Carrier accepts and the carrier confirmation is delivered to the customer.
In the event of any inconsistency between:
- a booking-specific written amendment accepted by the relevant parties;
- the carrier confirmation and the transport provisions of these Terms for transport matters, together with any mandatory Carrier supplement properly made available through the Platform, or the initial platform acknowledgement for platform matters;
- direct written communication between the parties, including email, SMS, or messaging;
- these Terms and Conditions; and
- information published on the website,
the documents apply in the above order for their respective subject matter, subject to mandatory law. A Carrier supplement cannot displace these Terms unless mandatory law requires it and it was properly made available through the Platform before it became binding.
A driver or vehicle update does not silently change the Carrier, fare or other material terms. Review every confirmation and report discrepancies promptly.
25. Entire Agreement
The platform documents form the agreement with the Platform Operator for its service. The carrier confirmation, the transport provisions of these Terms adopted by the Carrier, any properly disclosed mandatory Carrier supplement and accepted amendments form the agreement with the Carrier. Nothing makes the Platform Operator the Carrier or an independent Carrier its transport subcontractor.
26. Language
For bookings made on the English-language website, the English version is the authoritative version of these Terms. Translations are intended to have equivalent meaning. Nothing in this language clause limits mandatory consumer rights or mandatory information that must be provided in another language.
27. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
